Fun hike! Beautiful trail! The trail is well marked. We didn’t go to the final climb because it looked to treacherous to make without walking sticks.Full review by Traveler37545816082
Do we need hiking boots for Mount Tom or are tennis shoes ok?
A:
Hi So long as it isn’t wet weather, you would easily manage in tennis shoes / trainers. Path is well marked, you do have to watch your footing for tree roots and similar but that’s about it.
Would this trail be safe to do wearing a baby in a front carrier? Thanks!
A:
It's doable on one of the trails, but not all of them. I can't recall the name of the trail we ascended on, it was much safer than the one we descended on.
Hello Gate83....we are in our 70's and in good shape but not avid hikers. Do you think we can walk to the top without much trouble next week. Also, where in town did you begin?
A:
You can start in Woodstock, Vermont. You should be able to walk to the top. Near the top, it will be slippery if there has been rain.
