Definitely summer months but early in the morning as it can get windy and blistering hot. I would definitely take a sun shade of some description and lots of sun act. White sand and sun are a perfect combination for severe sunburn.. trust me I found out the hard way... Would also be a great place to visit in the milder months but on a sunny but no wind day.

There are taxis to take you around town but they would not be a good option for going to the National Park... there are no taxis in the National Park and it's about an hour from town. There would be tours you could take or there is a rental care place in town... which would be the best bet.
