We travelled to Dover Castle by car from River, England, a small community west of Dover, so I don't know about going to the castle from the cruise port. Talking with the cruise line is a good idea; I would imagine they would have information on this, but I've never been on a cruise. I think there is a TI not too far from the cruise port.
