In the aftermath of Sunday’s tragic shooting, classmates and instructors are honoring the life of 34-year-old Christina Combs, who was set to graduate this December as a nursing student from BCTC.

Concerns about the security of church services have risen in the wake of a deadly shooting at a Lexington church.One security expert says active shootings in churches have gone up across the nation in the past ten years,

The idea that you’d be at church on a Sunday and be subjected to violence is antithetical to what our country is," Gov. Andy Beshear said.

The assailant was fatally shot by police at a Lexington church, but not before shooting five people and killing two.

Before fleeing to the church, House allegedly shot a Kentucky State Police trooper at about 11.35 a.m. on Sunday after being pulled over near Terminal Drive near Blue Grass Airport. The trooper sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Lexington Police Department.

The Fayette County Coroner has identified 47-year-old Guy House as the shooter in Sunday's violent events that left two dead and three injured, including a Kentucky State Police trooper.
