There was never much doubt that the Nintendo Switch 2 would be a hit, even with its $450 price tag and games pushing $80 and beyond. But, according to Circana analyst Mat Piscatella, the new console’s sales have been particularly explosive.

Data suggests the Nintendo Switch 2 sold around 1.6 million units in the US its first month, which would beat previous record holder PS4's 2013 launch.

Nintendo’s next-gen console the Switch 2 is the fastest-selling gaming hardware in U.S. history. According to market tracker Circana, Nintendo sold 1.6 million units of the US$450 (A$675) console in the U.
