The new four-year contract has a total value of $144 million, with $123 million in new money and $108 million of that guaranteed. Watt is now the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history on a per-season basis.

So when the Steelers signed Watt to a three-year, $123 million contract extension, which makes him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL on a per-year basis ($41 million), the consensus was the monster deal well-deserved.
