SPS Technologies says it has hired an outside firm to help with cleanup and that they will be starting remediation work Friday at the area schools before moving onto homes.

A shelter-in-place order​ remains in place and voluntary evacuations have been ordered around the SPS Technologies facility after a massive fire broke out Monday night.

The EPA and DEP will continue to monitor air and water conditions to ensure public safety. No hazards have been detected in the area surrounding the fire and the area has been deemed safe,”
