Tanks and thousands of troops paraded through the streets of Washington, D.C., for the Army's 250th anniversary on President Donald Trump's birthday.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Grand military parade in DC marking US Army’s 250th birthday kicks off with tanks, troops and 21-gun salute.

WASHINGTON - The U.S. Army celebrated its 250th birthday in Washington, D.C. with a massive festival, parade and concert. The Army 250th birthday parade begins at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 14. Guest entry along the parade route is expected to begin at 2:00 p.m. Ahead of the parade are two events on the National Mall.

Coinciding with Trump's 79th birthday, the parade will feature tanks, bands and thousands of troops in honor of the Army’s 250th anniversary celebration.

Instead, the closest open metro exit to the National Mall will be at 12th and Independence Avenue, Southwest. Other nearby stations include Foggy Bottom, Farragut West and North, McPherson Square, Metro Center, Federal Triangle and Archives-Navy Memorial stations.
