Arsenal are in the market for a new striker in the January transfer window as they look to close the gap to Liverpool at the top of the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta says the “necessity” for Arsenal to add to their squad has ramped up after injuries to Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus. Saka tore his hamstring in December and will be out of action until at least March, while Jesus is set for a long spell on the sidelines after injuring his knee earlier this month.

Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus will undergo surgery for an ACL injury sustained in the team’s FA Cup loss to Manchester United on Sunday.
