This marks the final weekend of operation for the Macys at the iconic Wanamaker Building in Center City. All day long hundreds of people gathered to listen to the historic organ one last time.

The closure of the Center City Macy's store in Philadelphia -- one of dozens the company decided to shutter across the country -- means an end, at least for now, to another fixture that had drawn shoppers and other listeners: the near-daily playing of the historic Wanamaker Organ.
