Indian Railways has opened a new holding area for the passengers at New Delhi Railway Station after the stampede incident which killed 18 people earlier this month. The new area is set to hold 10,000 passengers,

15 of the 18 died of traumatic asphyxia, two died of hemorrhagic shock and one died of a head injury, according to the postmortem reports

The move marks the ministry’s one of first major content enforcement actions since it gained direct takedown powers in December last year

Now, passengers will be allowed entry at the railway station only if they have tickets to avoid overcrowding. The preparations have been made a Jabalpur Junction as well as Katni and Satna stations as these are located on Prayagraj railway route.
