Israel orders evacuations in central Gaza as ceasefire talks stall and military offensive widens
The Israeli military has issued new evacuation warnings for central Gaza, an area where ground operations have been rare.
On Saturday, Israeli soldiers fired at a crush of Palestinians seeking food from Israeli-supported contractors, killing an estimated 32 people. On Sunday, 93 Palestinians were reported killed when Israeli soldiers opened fire on a melee of civilians desperate for supplies from a U.N. food convoy.
The tracer bullets are unmistakable as they streak across the otherwise dark forecourt of Gaza’s Nasser hospital, with the deafening sound of automatic gunfire overhead.
Now the primary vehicle for food distribution inside Gaza, the controversial U.S.- and Israeli-backed operation is an issue in ongoing ceasefire negotiations.
Hamas has waged a campaign of terror against Israel and Jews worldwide, but it does so by first reigning with terror over the people of Gaza.
