The National Weather Service released an updated heat advisory at 8:19 p.m. on Thursday valid for Friday between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. for Sussex, Warren, Morris, Hunterdon, Monmouth, Ocean and Burlington counties.
Another round of high heat, oppressive humidity and potentially severe weather is on the horizon for the Boston area.
After a few days of cooler weather, the heat and humidity are set to return, prompting city officials to declare a heat advisory for Friday. The advisory runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. as daytime temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s.
The heat dome won't dissipate soon. Dangerous heat is expected across parts of the Central and Southeast. through July, the weather service says. High temperatures will reach 100 degrees from Texas to western Tennessee almost every day for a week or two, AccuWeather said.
A HEAT ADVISORY and AIR QUALITY ALERT is in effect for much of northeast Ohio. The heat and humidity will start to increase Wednesday and will stay hot through Friday.
