Jonathan Joss, who voiced John Redcorn on “King of the Hill” and played Chief Ken Hotate in “Parks and Recreation,” was fatally shot Sunday in San Antonio.

Jonathan’s husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, previously said they were “harassed regularly” by neighbors for being gay, and alleged that they found their dog’s skull just moments before Jonathan was shot.

The San Antonio Police Department is walking back statements made while investigating the death of actor Jonathan Joss, noting that it had been premature to say there was “no evidence” the shooting was a hate crime.
