Sunday is our next First Alert Weather Day. There will be plenty of clouds with rounds of showers and storms throughout the day tomorrow. Humidity spikes again, too, so any downpours will be capable of brief heavy rain. Localized spots of flash flooding are certainly possible wherever the heaviest cells move through.
Thunderstorms are expected to become widespread as the day progresses. A few storms are possible by mid to late morning while the brunt of the rain should arrive during the afternoon. Most locations will receive up to half an inch of rain, but higher amounts are possible with the stronger, slower moving storms.
Farther north, a cold front over far northwestern Ontario will force the development of several rounds of additional thunderstorms as it cuts into the hot and humid air across the region. These storms will start as clusters before growing into a line along the cold front.
Forecasters expect on-and-off storms Saturday, while heat and humidity may build again in the area going into next week.
