A car crash was reported Tuesday morning in the Carmichael area of Sacramento County, California Highway Patrol logs show.

"He was the counselor they were supposed to trust,” said child abuse Detective Axelsen with the Sacramento County Sheriff.

The woman was crossing Marconi Avenue near Walnut Avenue when she was struck. She died of her injuries at a hospital.
