The award-winning Poet Laureate of Colorado, Andrea Gibson, died Monday morning, according to a Facebook post by their family.

Andrea Gibson, a poet, activist and Colorado Laureate who was the subject of documentary film "Come See Me in the Good Light," has died at 49.

Come See Me in the Good Light,” a documentary film made by the poet and their wife dealing with Gibson’s cancer diagnosis in 2021, won festival favorite at Sundance this year. Gibson was 49.
