The world's richest man had gone all in, spending heavily and issuing dire warnings about what the outcome in Wisconsin could mean for Republicans.

Susan Crawford, a liberal running with the backing of the Wisconsin Democratic Party, won a seat on the state’s Supreme Court on Tuesday night, fending off millions of dollars in spending from right-wing billionaire Elon Musk.

Elon Musk was a prominent fundraiser in the campaign, and was the subject of attack ads aired by Crawford's supporters.
