An Ascension Parish judge has ordered that Louisiana native Michael Tyler, known as the rapper Mystikal, remain in jail until his trial.

Mystikal will stay incarcerated until his 2026 trial after a judge denied bond in a rape case that could lead to life in prison.

Mystikal was due in court as he continues to await trial on rape and abuse charges that could lead to a mandatory life sentence.
