Darren Mougey has been hired by the Jets as their new general manager. The New York Jets have hired Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn as their head coach, according to NFL Network and ESPN. Glenn, 52, has been the Lions’ defensive coordinator since 2021. He was a cornerback in the NFL for 15 seasons, from 1994 to 2008, mostly with the Jets and the Houston Texans.

But amid all the excitement about former cornerback coming back to lead the team that picked him in the first round of the 1994 NFL Draft, the search for a new general manager did not come to an end with them hiring their only finalist, Commanders assistant GM Lance Newmark who interviewed with Glenn on Tuesday.
