Ole Miss basketball dropped a tough one to Vanderbilt on Saturday, losing 77-72 in Nashville. The Rebels (19-8, 8-6 SEC) overcame a 19-point deficit in the first half, trailing by eight points going into the half.

The Ole Miss men's basketball team has been struggling in recent weeks under second-year head coach Chris Beard. After a stretch in which the team won four of five games, including a dominant performance against nationally ranked Kentucky, the Rebels have dropped two straight games in agonizing fashion.

Vanderbilt basketball nearly blew a 19-point lead, but held on to win, 77-72, on Saturday at Memorial Gymnasium. The Commodores got off to an excellent start in the first half, building up a lead as many as 19 points.

The Vanderbilt basketball (18-9, 6-8) program put it's three-game losing streak to bed on Saturday with an important home victory over the No. 24 Ole Miss Rebels (19-8, 8-6). The Commodores moved into 10th place in the SEC with the win and with four games remaining in the regular season appear poised to shame the media that slotted them to finish last in the league.
