William Shakespeare’s marriage to Anne Hathaway may have been happier than previously thought, according to new research.

They had three children – a daughter called Susanna and twins, Hamnet and Judith. Hamnet died in 1596 – Shakespeare appears to have named his most famous character, Hamlet, after his son.

Though he was born centuries ago, we're still watching his plays and studying his works. And his words continue to resonate today.
