The Lionesses are heading back home to celebrate. England successfully defended its Women’s European Championship title by beating world champion Spain in a shootout in the final in Basel, Switzerland on Sunday.

No working members of the Royal Family were present at the victory celebration at Buckingham Palace this afternoon. Thousands of England fans gathered down the mall to watch England's open bus parade make its way to the royal residence on Tuesday.
