Significant damage was reported in western and central Kansas early Monday morning after powerful storms produced tornadoes that damaged numerous homes and brought down trees and power line.
Saturday afternoon, Gov. Andy Beshear said in a post on X that 17 of the deaths occurred in Laurel County. One death has been confirmed in Pulaski County. A 69-year-old woman there was found dead in a destroyed home, Pulaski County Deputy Coroner Keith Price said. Her identity is being withheld while officials notify her family.
