Cockburn is delighted to announce the special election winner replacing Trayon White (who was unanimously expelled from office in February) in his Ward 8 DC City Council seat: Trayon White.

Trayon White is expected to regain his seat on the D.C. Council following a special election for Ward 8—the seat left vacant after he was arrested on federal bribery charges.

Trayon White, D.C. Council member who was removed from office in February over a federal bribery charge, won a special election and is set to reclaim his seat in August.

The DC Board of Elections is still counting mail-in ballots from Tuesday's special election in Ward 8 and will be until July 25.

With two-thirds of the votes counted, former D.C. Council member Trayon White has all but been officially declared the winner of the special election spurred by his expulsion from the legislative body earlier this year.

WASHINGTON — Ousted DC councilmember Trayon White is in hot water once again. A Board of Ethics and Government Accountability (BEGA) violation notice sent last week accuses White of failing to file the two financial disclosures for his last year in office.

The four candidates, all Democrats, were asked questions on issues such as the redevelopment of RFK Stadium, housing and policing in the ward.
