New York doesn’t have to do anything between now and the trade deadline to reach its goals. The Knicks have been fine with the roster as is. With that said, the sense around the league is that the Knicks will do something minor in order to bolster their bench, whether sooner by getting a player back in a trade or later in the buyout market.
While the Knicks have yielded positive results from wingers Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby this season, there's reason to believe both players would benefit from an adjusted team strategy.
Saturday’s Knicks victory was delayed for about 10 minutes because of a bent rim that was actually straight. Apparently Mikal Bridges jump-started an early fourth quarter investigation by telling the officials the rim was askew as he was taking free throws. The thought was that a previous dunk from OG Anunoby had shifted the metal circle.
Mikal Bridges led the Knicks with 28 points and had a wild plus-43 in Monday night’s 143-106 win over Memphis at Madison Square Garden. The Denver Nuggets dropped their third game in a row, this time losing to the New York Knicks 122-112. Nikola Jokic got called for two fouls in the first
OG Anunoby scored a team-high 33 points, helping lead the New York Knicks to 143-120 win over the visiting Sacramento Kings on Saturday. Mikal Bridges added 27 points, Jalen Brunson had 25 points and 11 assists,
Anunoby literally appeared to bring the house down after one showstopping dunk in the second half: shortly after the slam, which increased the Knicks' lasting lead, the game endured a 10-minute pause after the rim appeared to be crooked after the 240-lb. Anunoby hung on the rim following his dazzling double.
Knicks captain Jalen Brunson lamented the team's poor start and lack of physicality in the loss to Minnesota. OG Anunoby thought it boiled down to "they made shots and we didn't." in the fourth quarter while Mikal Bridges simply stated: "We have to be better.

Young finished with a team-high 27 points but shot an inefficient 8-of-22 from the field. He turned the ball over nine times to just six assists, his decision-making troubles exacerbated under the pressure Bridges applied from the opening tip.
Mikal Bridges didn’t get a tribute video in his return to Barclays Center on Tuesday, but he did get a “Welcome back” graphic.
