On Sunday, an arctic blast settled into the region, bringing the first freeze to Houston and high chances of wintry precipitation to North Texas.

TxDOT says winter weather operations are in full swing from North Texas to the Panhandle as crews work to clear the roadways. TxDOT also has a statewide map that shows road conditions are a mess in areas slammed by the wintry weather.

The timeframe would be Thursday morning into Friday with snow and ice being the main concern for areas north of Houston.
