Elon Musk asked a judge to block OpenAI's attempt to transition from nonprofit to for-profit. It's not the first time he's feuded with CEO Sam Altman.

OpenAI’s CEO has stolen Musk’s thunder and it’s a lesson for every leader. Sam Altman and Elon Musk aren’t friends. They used to be colleagues back when the two were co-founders of OpenAI, and they seemingly shared the belief that artificial intelligence could be a huge net benefit for society.

Elon Musk, the eccentric but undeniably influential CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has recently found himself at odds with some influential figures in the financial and tech space, notably Sam Altman of OpenAI and Nicolai Tangen of Norway’s sovereign wealth fund.

Altman and Musk were OpenAI’s founding co-chairs in 2015, but their relationship has devolved into name-calling and lawsuits.

The latest spat began after Altman joined Trump, SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son, and Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison in a White House ceremony on Tuesday to announce the launch of Stargate, a $500 billion venture to advance the United States’ artificial intelligence infrastructure.

According to Politico, White House staffers think Musk overstepped by publicly accusing OpenAI of not having the money needed to hold up its end of the bargain for a $100 billion investment in the Stargate initiative.
