The Black Lives Matter Plaza in Washington, D.C. may soon have a new name following legislation introduced by U.S. Rep. Andrew Clyde of Georgia.

Republican Georgia Rep. Andrew Clyde is pushing for Washington D.C. to rename Black Lives Matter Plaza, which was commissioned in 2020.

A House Republican introduced legislation Monday that, if passed, would require DC Mayor Muriel Bowser to rename Black Lives Matter Plaza — or else, Congress would withhold federal funding from the District.
