The Cleveland Browns on Wednesday introduced a brown alternate helmet as part of a monochrome uniform branded as their ‘Alpha Dawg’ look.

As far as promoting the helmet, I have some mixed feelings about it. Usually, whenever a team teases a helmet/uniform reveal, it’s usually straightforward with a date to follow it up. Leading up to the reveal, DudeWipes (which is a sponsor of the team) teased the reveal.

In order to publicly reveal the new helmet the Browns built an elaborate float on Lake Erie that featured a giant inflatable helmet in the style of the new look. But it seems even in this arena the franchise cannot escape the poor luck that has come to define much of the Browns' existence.

With the goal to "honor tradition and provide modern edge," the Cleveland Browns revealed revamped logos Tuesday with a richer orange color and a brown face mask on the helmet.
