In a Facebook post Sunday, Fort Jackson announced that a basic combat training soldier from Charlie Company, 2nd Battalion, 13th Infantry Regiment, was found dead during training on Thursday.

A Fort Jackson trainee died during basic training Thursday. The unit paused exercises and is providing resources as next-of-kin notification proceeds.

In 2014, he completed Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson in South Carolina and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Eustis in Virginia where he was certified as a helicopter repairer.
