Constellation Brands has taken another big step in streamlining its wine stable to focus on luxury brands, selling a 12-million-case portfolio of mostly value-priced brands to The Wine Group for an undisclosed sum.

The Wine Group LLC, Livermore, Calif., announced that it entered into an agreement with Constellation Brands, Inc. to acquire several wine brands: Cook’s, J. Rogét, Meiomi, Robert Mondavi Private Selection, SIMI and Woodbridge.

Constellation Brands Inc. is hoping to sell its entire wine portfolio, according to “WineBusiness Magazine.” The multi-national conglomerate owns such familiar labels as Woodbridge and Robert Mondavi,
