Chinese consumer electronics giant Xiaomi has launched a new electric SUV and debuted a self-designed smartphone chip, in a push to expand beyond its roots in budget devices.

Xiaomi 15S Pro is equipped with a Leica-backed triple rear camera unit, including a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto shooter with 5x optical zoom.

Xiaomi has launched it's first proprietary chipset, the XRING O1, alongside the Xiaomi 15S Pro and Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra.
