Canada’s finance minister pushed back against claims that the country has largely abandoned its retaliatory tariffs on U.S. imports, stating that most of the levies remain in effect. Francois-Philippe Champagne said in a social media post Saturday that 70% of the countermeasures introduced in March are still active,

"I would not expect that we're going to be announcing anything at the G7 but we've made very substantial progress with a number of our G7 partners already," the source said.
