Thousands of runners and walkers take to the streets of Houston this Sunday. Temperatures at the starting line will be in the mid-30s but it will feel like the upper-20s with the wind chill. Temperatures will warm to the lower-40s through the morning under sunny skies. It was actually colder last year.

Another surge of arctic air and freezing temperatures will arrive on Monday into Tuesday. The Houston area is projected to see temperatures as low as 26 degrees late Monday and 24 degrees on Tuesday,

A strong cold front coming to the area Sunday night will bring near-freezing temperatures beginning Monday morning.

Scattered mainly light rain showers Wednesday with the best chance south of I-10 near the coast. Thursday will be partly sunny and mainly dry with a 10% rain chance. For next week, long-range models indicate the chance of another arctic blast early next week which could bring the coldest air so far this season!

New week in Houston is going to be very cold and windy with a high chance for either sleet, ice or areas of snow.
