A British F-35B fighter jet stranded at an Indian airport for more than a month flew back after being repaired by a team of U.K. engineers

A British fighter jet that had been famously stranded at an Indian airport finally took off Tuesday after a nearly 40-day stay.

A state-of-the-art British fighter jet that had been stuck at an Indian airport for more than five weeks is now airborne and on its way to Darwin in Australia. The F-35B was pulled back from the hangar on Monday after it was deemed fit to fly, an airport spokesman told the BBC.
