Appleton was traded back to Winnipeg in 2022 for a 2023 fourth-round pick. Since that trade, he has played in 213 games with the Jets, recording 78 points on 31 goals and 47 assists.

Appleton (6 feet 2, 194 pounds) had 10 goals in 71 games last season with the Jets. He has 57 goals and 138 points in 400 career NHL games. Appleton played at Michigan State from 2015-17.

Appleton would play 40 games for the Moose in 2018-19, his first active season with the Jets, and saw action in 36 games for Winnipeg. He posted 32 points for Manitoba that season.
