Gotterup finished 15-under at one of the more fun tournaments on the calendar, two clear of both Marco Penge and Rory McIlroy. It marked the second PGA Tour win for Gotterup and notably clinched him a spot in next week’s Open Championship at Royal Portrush.
Chris Gotterup won the 2025 Genesis Scottish Open, securing his biggest career victory and a spot in the Open Championship. Gotterup, ranked 158th in the world before the tournament, held off a competitive field including Rory McIlroy to win by two strokes.
The duo was tied entering the back nine, but McIlroy failed to convert a birdie putt as Gotterup finished with three birdies and a bogey.
