Foreign nationals with $5 million to spare will soon be able to register for a new “gold card” visa that would give them the right to live and work in the United States, Treasury Secretary Howard Lutnick said on Wednesday.

The president has viewed the Gold Card visa as a major piece of immigration legislation that will help improve the country.

Even the wealthy may not want to pay $5 million rather than invest that sum, said Dominic Volek of investment migration consultancy Henley & Partners.
