Alex Bregman, Wilyer Abreu hit home runs in the 8th inning that extended the Boston Red Sox's lead over the Chicago Cubs.

Finally, the Red Sox flood gates opened, and they departed Chicago with a 6-1 win on Sunday, avoiding a sweep against the major league-leading Cubs thanks to Abreu’s two home runs and Bregman’s one.

“Obviously a big home run, a big moment for us ... to start a new (winning streak),” he said Abreu added his 20th homer in the eighth inning to put Boston ahead 6-1.
