Democrats have criticized Republicans for their hesitation to pass government funding legislation, while their own party is currently on the brink of allowing a federal shutdown.

The “lingering indecision” comes as Senate Democrats are set to meet this afternoon for a closed-door lunch where they are expected to discuss their strategy ahead of the shutdown deadline that looms at the end of the week,
