Bradford County officials will vote on a plan on Thursday evening to convert a warehouse into a federal immigration detention center

ICE officials surveyed a warehouse in Morris County, NJ that could potentially be considered as a new immigration detention center. The warehouse is located off Route 46 and has been vacant for some time.

The number of ICE detention centers exploded in 2025, driven by an increase in the number of county jails holding immigrants for ICE, but also in the arrival of alternative sites like Camp East Montana on Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas; or the Florida-run "Alligator Alcatraz" outside Miami.

The Trump administration is reportedly planning an immigrant detention center in Roxbury, a plan opposed by New Jersey’s congressional Democrats.
