Joker won two of the eleven Oscars it was nominated for in 2020, so when there were rumors of a sequel, it felt like Joker: Folie à Deux was a lock for some awards attention, particularly with Lady Gaga joining the cast.

Lady Gaga has finally spoken publicly about the critically panned Joker: Folie À Deux flopping last year, saying that artists have to be willing to fail, adding that sometimes people just “don’t like” stuff.

Admittedly, the first thing that killed the slight excitement brought on by Lady Gaga was the reveal that the film would be a jukebox musical instead of featuring original songs. I cannot emphasize enough how much that bummed me out.
