MAUSTON, Wis. (WKBT) -- On Tuesday, Mauston residents approved a $7 million referendum, saving the district from dissolution. The district was facing a financial crisis after two referendums failed last year. In November, the school board voted to dissolve the district if Tuesday's referendum didn't pass.

The referendum asked voters for approval to exceed the state-imposed revenue by $1.75 million each year for the next four years. It passed after 2.044 voted yes and 1,034 voted no.
