Twinwood Aviation Museum covering the second World War and World War 1 with displays on the RAF and 8th USAAF. The museum is located on the former RAF World War 2, Night Fighter Training Station RAF Twinwood Farm, Near Clapham, Bedfordshire.

Come and explore our engineering workshop to see the live work taking place on some of these stunning aircraft, before exploring six hangars full of aeronautic and vehicular history. Then, step through ornate iron gates and discover the quiet idyll of Swiss Garden.

The museum is located on the former RAF World War 2, Night Fighter Training Station RAF Twinwood Farm, Near Clapham, Bedfordshire. The airfield is also home to the “Glenn Miller” museum which is housed in the airfields Watch Office (Control Tower).

Jul 3, 2019 · How is it, in this quiet corner of Bedfordshire, that you’ll find the oldest flying aircraft in the world? That’s thanks to Richard Shuttleworth who, during the 1930s, rescued old aircraft and vehicles and brought them to Old Warden Park to restore. Full of history and fun.

Welcome to the Bedford RAE pages, dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the history and achievements of the Royal Aircraft Establishment at Bedford. The RAE site at Bedford was the UK’s premier flight test and wind tunnel research establishment from 1952 until 2001.

Bedford Museum has now developed a good relationship with the FAAM and it is expected that a number of airship artefacts will be loaned for display at Bedford.

During the war many famous entertainers of the era used RAF Twinwood to fly from, because it was the closest airfield to Bedford - the secret headquarters of the BBC during WWII.
