Feb 10, 2023 · Replacing the hard brake line from the ABS unit to the brake hose (drivers front) on my 2000 S10. I ordered what I thought was the correct line but it is too small. 3/16" with 3/8" fittings do not work. Please confirm that I need 3/16" line with 1/2"-24 fittings?

Nov 1, 2011 · The aftermarket lines are fairly pliable and will take a decent radius bend if you don't overdo it. If the line available is just a couple of inches too long, you can make a few unnecessary bends to use up the space. If way too long, consider using two shorter lines with a union to get closer to the needed length. Otherwise, cut and double-flare.

Aug 28, 2010 · Brake lines replaced. They took 7.5 hours (all day) to custom bend new lines. Total about 22 feet of new lines. Some of them have a coating on them to prevent rust. They routed the new rear line above the frame rail and gas tank (tank had to be dropped to replace the line and I was also having them replace the fuel pump.

Jun 8, 2017 · That's a 1/4" line. The line to the rear is 1/4", the front lines are 3/16". Only two size lines are used, one small and the other larger. The exception are the fittings going into the ABS unit, they are very close but a wee bit larger. An FYI, If you use a regular brake fitting in the ABS unit you will strip the treads in the ABS unit.

May 29, 2022 · On my 6.0 S10 I replaced all the fuel lines with Nicop tubing. I also used that to make all new brake lines. Stuff is easy to bend. Easy to kink so use care when bending it. I double flared all my brake lines, but on the fuel lines I found some old lines I had laying around that weren't rusted and cut the ends off that I needed.
