In Disney's Moana, Te Kā is initially the benevolent island goddess Te Fiti. After the demigod Maui steals her heart, she transforms into Te Kā, a destructive lava demon. When Moana returns the stolen heart, Te Kā cools into molten rock, solidifies, and crumbles, ceasing to exist as the lava demon. She then reverts to her original form, Te Fiti.
