Mudeford (/ ˈ m ʌ d ɪ f ər d / MUD-ih-fərd) is a harbourside and beachside parish [2] based on a former fishing village in the east of Christchurch, Dorset, England (historically in Hampshire), fronting water on two sides: Christchurch Harbour and the sands of Avon Beach.

The village of Mudeford has an intriguing history of smuggling over the centuries and the picturesque quay is still the focal point of the local fishing industry. The scenic boat trip takes around 40 minutes to cruise down the River Stour from Christchurch Quay to the beach at Mudeford Sandbank. Many of the boats do not have protection from the elements so remember to pack something warm and waterproof just in case.
