Feb 16, 2024 · It would be nice if Wilwood would state if the captive pushrod was necessary. After looking at for a while, I think the pushrod is captive due to it needing to be so short for nonpowered brakes. The point where the pushrod meets the master cylinder is actually recessed to be just inside the firewall.

Nov 20, 2009 · That does not mean you cannot run power brakes, you can run power assist if you like, but Wilwood work well as manual brakes. Now where I do see a problem is when someone buys a Wilwood master cylinder designed for manual brake systems, and trys to use is on a brake system designed as a power brake system like a factory Corvette set up for example.

And the outlet ports of the pv are vertical no where near the same orientation of the stock pv. My box from The Stop Shop came today, I haven't had a chance to look at the lines yet but will tomorrow night.

I even replaced the hard lines (not Wilwood). I wanted to go to a non power boosted setup because the engine I plan to install won't have enough vacuum to drive a booster.

Feb 11, 2014 · I have tried to switch to a wilwood master cylinder a few times now and both times(1st; new master cylinder, 2nd; rebuilt same master) I end up with bubbles coming into the rear resevoir whenever the brake pedal is released. I can get the brakes bled but cant get good pedal pressure with it. The normal OEM stock type master works fine.
