It is just as I remembered it as a child--Robin Hood and his band of merry men off to save the day. Good nostalgic movie from the old days of movie adventures.

Errol Flynn and Olivia deHavilland at their best, and music by Erich Wolfgang Korngold who did a lot of Errol Flynn movies. What more could you ask for.

I had this on VHS, wanted it on DVD, I got it and glad I did. The only Robin Hood movie\nthat comes close to this one, is Bugs Bunny.

For five bucks it was worth it. I know it's in full frame, but they didn't make it in widescreen at the time they made the movie

There shouldn't be much that needs to be said about the 1938 Errol Flynn Robin Hood on a critical level. If you haven't seen it, you need to. Done. This particular BluRay release of the film has a great bonus though. Night at the Movies 1938 has a brief intro by Leonard Maltin (?) talking about what an event going to a movie was back then, followed by a trailer for "Angels with Dirty Faces" (Cagney), a newsreel, an orchestral/swing performance, a Merry Melodies cartoon, and then flows right on into Robin Hood. It's just as if you'd been at the movie house in 1938. I highly recommend it! (I think it is my copy of Maltese Falcon that has a similar bonus.)Read More

I grew up watching this movie whenever it was on TV. Couldn't stream movies back then, we had to wait for it to come on again. Love the acting, story. You can still have a great movie without all the blood and gore of the action movies these days. That being said, I do like the Russell Crowe version too. Will watch this one over and over again.

It's a classic film that contains romance, adventure, plenty of action, and two of the most engaging actors involved in a love story.....Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilliand. The supporting cast of Claude Rains, Basil Rathbone, and Una O'Conner, plus many other familiar favorites will totally engross you. A great film for kids, too!

You can't go wrong here...this is a timeless "classic" with the great actor Flynn himself and all the supporting cast..Even today its a TCM gem to watch..Blue ray was bought at x-mas for $5....Price can't be beat folks a+++

This is the classic Robin Hood starring Errol Flynn and Olivia de Haviland as Robin and Lady Mariam. It is filled with action and fun and humor. Also, it is a great family movie.

The movie reflects the story as written not not as a modern day social commentary. Very enjoyable even though the special effects are sophomoric by today's standards. With these older movies you tend to focus more on the character portrayals than the side show.

A charming movie about abuses in power igniting the spunk & ingenuity of the oppressed masses. Robin Hood is awesome

Not many people nowadays know who Errol Flynn is but this is quite possibly the best Robin Hood movie of all time
